C.O.Q Hotel

Tucked away on a side street in Paris’ 13th arrondissement, a curious wander will find C.O.Q, a 50-room hotel designed for the contemporary traveller.

An acronym for ‘Community of Quality’, the hotel entertains an eclectic-chic aesthetic, as though belonging to your friend who has a six-figure salary but still shops at flea markets. There’s a strong emphasis on incorporating local French elements into the design and experience, such as merino wool D.U.S.T. throw blankets on the beds, wood flooring made in Limoges and antiques procured from the local flea markets (which lucky person got that job?).

Croissants are served in the hotel’s light-filled café, where guests are encouraged to find a seat in one of the various sitting areas, which transition into a lounge and bar in the afternoon and evening. A stack of board games and a pull-down movie screen in one of the lounge’s cosiest corners suggests that this hotel is not all about business. Santé!
